3rd Annual Stu Sells Toronto Tankard Crowns Champions!
The 3rd annual StuSells Toronto Tankard, held October 5-8, proved to be one of the most exciting curling events of the year. This year's event saw two seasoned champions claim the men's and women's championships. 2011 World Men's Champion, Jeff Stoughton, along with Jon Mead, Reid Carruthers and Mark Nichols, captured the men's title and five time Tournament of Hearts champion, Mary-Anne Arsenault, with Colleen Jones, Kim Kelly and Jennifer Baxter, won on the women's side. Congratulations to both teams.
A big thanks to Stuart Sankey, the head organizer of the event. Without his tireless efforts, this event would not be possible. Another thanks to Kelly Cochrane, Steve Robert and their volunteer team who spent countless hours maintaining the club and ensuring that competitors were taken care of. And finally, another big thanks to the sponsors of the event for making it possible: Stu Sells Simple, Tim Hortons, Cold Stone Creamery, Steam Whistle, Royal LePage, RBC, Starwood Preferred Guest, Goldline Curling, The Dominion, Pepsi and Beck Taxi. We're all looking forward to another great event next year!
